Another week, another great old pin cushion (actually a couple today); such a wonderful variety out there, and wonderful embodiments of the persistent drive to make mundane things special. This is a large one, late 19th century or so I would guess, with colorful raised designs, I think properly described as tufted wool, against a dark navy ground, also wool I believe. And very sweet hand-tatted lace trim around the perimeter. Like a whole showcase needlework skills, and very charming.

 9 5/8" x 4 3/4" including trim. Good antique condition.
